Passion Projects for Student Innovation: Genius Hour

Genius Hour equips educators with the necessary tools to effectively introduce Genius Hour, or passion projects, into the classroom. The six-step strategy is presented in an easy-to-follow format, and teachers will guide students through the 6 P's―passion, plan, pitch, project, product, and presentation―as a roadmap for creating, designing, and executing their projects. Through these self-directed projects, students will engage in personalized learning, application of standards and real-world skills, and opportunities to learn through failure and reflection.

The book contains handouts, recommended online resources, and tips and tricks to make the Genius Hour process both meaningful for students and manageable for educators. Additionally, it discusses the importance and impact of Genius Hour on gifted students, empowering them to take control of their own learning. The book is the recipient of the 2019 Teachers' Choice Award for Professional Development.
